Artist Bio:
Jan & Dean were an American rock duo consisting of Jan Berry and Dean Torrence. They found success in the early 1960s with their surf music hits and vocal harmonies. The duo's most famous song is "Surf City," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963. They were known for their close vocal harmonies and catchy melodies that captured the essence of the California surf culture of the time.

Tragically, Jan Berry was involved in a near-fatal car accident in 1966, which left him with brain damage and affected his ability to perform. Despite this setback, Jan & Dean continued to release music and perform sporadically throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Their influence on the surf rock genre and their contributions to the music of the 1960s have earned them a lasting legacy in the history of American popular music.
