Artist Bio:
Jan & Dean were an American rock music duo consisting of William Jan Berry and Dean Ormsby Torrence. They found success in the early 1960s with their surf music hits and vocal harmonies. The duo is best known for their song "Surf City," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963. They were part of the California surf rock scene and often collaborated with other artists such as the Beach Boys.

Jan & Dean's career was interrupted when Jan Berry was seriously injured in a car accident in 1966, which left him with brain damage. Despite the setback, they continued to perform and record music together. Their music has remained popular with fans of the surf rock genre, and they are considered pioneers of the California sound. Jan & Dean were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2008. Jan Berry passed away in 2004, but Dean Torrence continues to perform and keep the duo's music alive.
