Artist Bio:
Janis Joplin was an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1960s as the lead singer of the psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company. Known for her powerful and soulful voice, she became one of the most iconic and influential female artists of her time. Joplin's distinct vocal style and electrifying stage presence made her a key figure in the counterculture movement of the 1960s.

In addition to her work with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Joplin also had a successful solo career, releasing several critically acclaimed albums such as "Pearl" and "I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!" Tragically, Joplin passed away in 1970 at the age of 27 due to a heroin overdose. Despite her short career, Janis Joplin's impact on the music industry continues to be felt, and she is remembered as one of the greatest rock and blues singers of all time.
