Jay and the Techniques were an American pop group formed in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the mid-1960s. The group was led by lead singer Jay Proctor and initially consisted of six members. They achieved commercial success in the late 1960s with their hit singles "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie" and "Keep the Ball Rollin'." "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie" reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967, and "Keep the Ball Rollin'" peaked at #14 in 1968. Their music was characterized by a catchy, upbeat sound and soulful vocals.
Despite their success with these singles, Jay and the Techniques struggled to maintain their popularity and lineup changes occurred over the years. The group eventually disbanded in the early 1970s, but their music continued to be celebrated by fans of 1960s pop music.
