The group disbanded in the early 1970s but reunited in the 2000s with Jay Black as the lead singer. They continued to perform and tour, showcasing their classic hits for both old and new fans. Jay & The Americans were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002, recognizing their contribution to the music industry during the 1960s.
