Jeannie C. Riley is an American country and gospel singer best known for her 1968 hit song "Harper Valley PTA." Born on October 19, 1945, in Anson, Texas, Riley began her music career in the 1960s, gaining popularity with her unique blend of country and pop music. "Harper Valley PTA" was a massive success, reaching number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Singles charts.
Riley continued to release music throughout the 1970s, with several of her songs reaching the country music charts. In addition to her music career, she also made appearances on various television shows and even had her own show, "Harper Valley U.S.A." She was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006, cementing her legacy as a pioneering female country artist.
