The band's initial lineup included former members of Jefferson Airplane, such as Paul Kantner, Grace Slick, and Marty Balin. They released several successful albums in the 1970s and 1980s, with a sound that blended elements of rock, psychedelic, and pop music.
Jefferson Starship is known for hits such as "Jane," "Miracles," and "Count on Me." The band went through various lineup changes over the years, with Kantner being the only constant member until his passing in 2016. Despite the changes, Jefferson Starship continues to perform and record music, with their most recent album, "Mother of the Sun," released in 2020.
