The Impressions were an American vocal group formed in Chicago in 1958. The group originally consisted of Butler, Curtis Mayfield, and Sam Gooden. They are known for their smooth harmonies, soulful sound, and socially conscious lyrics. Some of their most famous songs include "People Get Ready" and "It's All Right." The Impressions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 for their contributions to the music industry.
