Artist Bio:
Jerry Butler is an American soul singer, songwriter, and producer who rose to fame in the 1960s. He was born on December 8, 1939, in Sunflower, Mississippi. Butler is known for his smooth, distinctive voice and is often referred to as the "Iceman" for his cool demeanor and style.


Butler was a founding member of the R&B vocal group The Impressions before launching a successful solo career. He has released numerous hit songs, including "He Will Break Your Heart," "Only the Strong Survive," and "Never Give You Up." Butler was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and continues to perform and record music to this day. He is also involved in community activism and served as a Cook County Commissioner in Illinois from 1985 to 2018.
