Artist Bio:
Jerry Byrd (1920-2005) was an American musician known for his skillful and innovative steel guitar playing. He was born in Lima, Ohio and began his music career in the 1930s, eventually becoming one of the most influential steel guitarists in the history of country and Hawaiian music. Byrd played with various bands and artists, including Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb, and he was a member of the Grand Ole Opry.


Byrd was a pioneer in developing new techniques for playing the steel guitar, and he was known for his smooth tone and melodic style. He recorded numerous solo albums and also worked as a session musician, contributing to many popular recordings. Byrd's contributions to the steel guitar world earned him a place in the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1978, solidifying his legacy as one of the greats in the genre.
