However, he found more success as a songwriter, penning hits for artists such as Ricky Nelson, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, and Reba McEntire. One of his most notable compositions is "Travelin' Man," which became a chart-topping hit for Ricky Nelson in 1961.
In addition to his songwriting success, Jerry Fuller also worked as a producer, overseeing recordings for artists like O.C. Smith and Billy Joe Royal. He continued to write and produce music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and his contributions to the music industry have earned him a lasting legacy as a talented and versatile artist.
