Reed found success as both a solo artist and as a songwriter, penning hits for artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Brenda Lee. He is best known for his songs "When You're Hot, You're Hot" and "East Bound and Down," which was featured in the movie "Smokey and the Bandit."
In addition to his music career, Jerry Reed also had a successful acting career, appearing in films such as "Smokey and the Bandit" and "The Waterboy." He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2017. Reed passed away on September 1, 2008, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of country music.
