He was born on December 15, 1928, in Guilford, Missouri, and began his music career in the 1950s. Wallace signed with Challenge Records in the early 1960s, where he had his breakthrough hit with the song "Primrose Lane" in 1959.


Throughout his career, Jerry Wallace recorded over 45 albums and charted numerous hit singles on the country and pop music charts. Some of his other well-known songs include "In the Misty Moonlight" and "If You Leave Me Tonight I'll Cry." Wallace's music often featured a mix of country, pop, and a touch of rockabilly, making him a versatile artist with a wide appeal. He continued to perform and record music until his passing on May 5, 2008, leaving behind a legacy of memorable songs and a devoted fan base.
