He went on to have several more hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including "Primrose Lane" and "In the Misty Moonlight," both of which reached the top 10 on the country and pop charts.
Wallace continued to record and perform throughout the 1980s and 1990s, building a loyal fan base with his distinctive voice and heartfelt performances.
