Jesse Belvin was an American R&B singer, pianist, and songwriter, born on December 15, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas. He began his music career in the 1950s and gained recognition for his smooth and soulful vocal style. Belvin is best known for his hit songs such as "Goodnight My Love" and "Guess Who." He was also a talented songwriter, penning hits for other artists including "Earth Angel" by The Penguins.


Belvin was a pioneering figure in the early days of rhythm and blues and played a significant role in shaping the sound of the genre. Tragically, his promising career was cut short when he died in a car accident on February 6, 1960, at the young age of 27. Despite his untimely death, Jesse Belvin's music continues to be celebrated and remembered for its timeless quality and influence on the R&B genre.
