Jesse Belvin was an American R&B singer, pianist, and songwriter born on December 15, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas. He was known for his smooth and soulful voice, and he gained popularity in the 1950s and 1960s as a performer and songwriter. Belvin released several successful singles, including "Goodnight My Love" in 1956, which became a hit on the R&B charts.
Aside from his solo career, Jesse Belvin also collaborated with other artists, including Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke. Belvin was also a talented songwriter, penning songs for various artists in the R&B and pop genres. Tragically, his promising career was cut short when he died in a car accident on February 6, 1960, at the young age of 27.
