Jesse Lee Turner was an American singer and songwriter, born on August 20, 1938, in Prichard, Alabama. He is best known for his hit song "The Little Space Girl," which was released in 1962 and reached #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Turner was signed to the Carlton Records label, which was owned by Dick Clark, the well-known television personality and producer.
In addition to "The Little Space Girl," Turner released several other singles, including "Put Me Down" and "Shake Baby Shake," but none achieved the same level of commercial success as his signature song. Turner's music was influenced by the rock and roll and doo-wop genres popular in the 1960s.
