Jesse McCartney is an American singer, songwriter, and actor born on April 9, 1987, in Ardsley, New York. He rose to fame in the early 2000s as a member of the boy band Dream Street before launching a successful solo music career. McCartney released his debut album, "Beautiful Soul," in 2004, which included the hit title track. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart.
In addition to his music career, McCartney has also pursued acting. He is known for his role as JR Chandler on the soap opera "All My Children" and for providing the voice of Theodore in the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movies.
