Jim Croce was an American singer-songwriter born on January 10, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He rose to fame in the early 1970s with hits such as "Time in a Bottle," "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown," and "Operator (That's Not the Way It Feels)." Croce's music was known for its folk and rock influences, as well as his storytelling lyrics and heartfelt vocals.


Tragically, Jim Croce's promising career was cut short when he died in a plane crash on September 20, 1973, at the age of 30.
