Jim Ed Brown was an American country music singer and songwriter born on April 1, 1934 in Sparkman, Arkansas. He began his music career in the 1950s as part of the sibling trio The Browns, which also included his sisters Maxine and Bonnie. The group achieved success with hits like "The Three Bells" and "Scarlet Ribbons."


After the group disbanded in the mid-1960s, Jim Ed Brown pursued a solo career and had several chart-topping singles, including "Pop a Top" and "Morning." He also collaborated with other country music artists like Helen Cornelius. Brown was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1963 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. He continued to perform and record music until his passing on June 11, 2015, leaving behind a legacy as a respected and influential figure in country music.
