He is best known for his collaborations with singer Meat Loaf, including writing the majority of the songs on Meat Loaf's iconic album "Bat Out of Hell," which was released in 1977 and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. Steinman's work is characterized by his grandiose and theatrical style, often featuring bombastic arrangements and epic storytelling.


In addition to his work with Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman also wrote hit songs for other artists, such as Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart."
