Jimmie Rodgers, born James Charles Rodgers on September 8, 1897, was an American country singer and songwriter. He is widely regarded as the "Father of Country Music" and is known for his unique style that blended country, blues, and folk influences. Rodgers rose to fame in the 1920s and 1930s with his distinctive yodeling vocals and heartfelt lyrics. He was one of the first country music stars to achieve national recognition and commercial success.


Throughout his career, Jimmie Rodgers recorded a number of hits, including "Blue Yodel No. 1 (T for Texas)," "In the Jailhouse Now," and "Waiting for a Train." His impact on country music was significant, influencing generations of artists that followed him. Rodgers was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Despite his untimely death from tuberculosis at the age of 35 in 1933, Jimmie Rodgers' legacy continues to live on in the history of country music.
