Artist Bio:
Jimmie Rodgers, born on September 8, 1897, in Meridian, Mississippi, was an American country singer and songwriter. He is known as the "Father of Country Music" and was one of the genre's earliest and most influential performers. Rodgers' unique singing style, blending elements of blues, jazz, and folk, helped define the sound of early country music. He is best known for his yodeling vocals and hits such as "T for Texas" and "Blue Yodel No. 1 (T for Texas)."

Rodgers' career was cut short by his death at the young age of 35 on May 26, 1933, due to complications from tuberculosis. Despite his brief career, Jimmie Rodgers left a lasting impact on country music and inspired generations of artists with his pioneering style. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2013, cementing his legacy as a trailblazer in the world of music.
