Artist Bio:
Jimmy Clanton is an American singer and songwriter who was born on September 2, 1938, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is best known for his hit songs in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including "Just A Dream" and "Venus in Blue Jeans." Clanton was one of the few white artists to achieve success in the R&B market during that time.

Clanton signed with Ace Records in 1957 and quickly rose to fame with his smooth, pop-inflected vocals. He continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, although he never quite achieved the same level of success as his early hits. In addition to his music career, Clanton also appeared in several films, including "Go, Johnny, Go!" and "Teenage Millionaire."
