Jimmy Cliff is a Jamaican musician, singer, and actor born on April 1, 1948. He is considered one of the pioneering artists of reggae music and is known for his powerful vocals and socially conscious lyrics. Cliff's career began in the 1960s and he gained international fame with hits like "Wonderful World, Beautiful People" and "Many Rivers to Cross." He achieved further success with his starring role in the classic reggae film "The Harder They Come" in 1972, which also featured his hit song of the same name.


In addition to his music career, Jimmy Cliff has also acted in various films and television shows, showcasing his versatility as an artist. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 and continues to perform and record music, maintaining his status as a legendary figure in the world of reggae music.
