Artist Bio:
Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs were an American pop rock group prominent in the 1960s. They are best known for their hit single "Sugar Shack," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963. The group was formed in Raton, New Mexico, in the late 1950s and originally known as The Fireballs. Jimmy Gilmer joined the band as a vocalist in 1961, and they were subsequently renamed Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs.


The group released several other successful singles, including "Bottle of Wine" and "Daisy Petal Pickin'." They were known for their catchy tunes and melodic sound that blended elements of rock and roll with pop sensibilities. Despite their brief time in the limelight, Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs left a lasting impact on the music scene of the 1960s.
