Reed had a string of hits in the 1950s and 1960s, including songs like "Big Boss Man," "Bright Lights, Big City," and "Baby What You Want Me to Do." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980.
