Jimmy Ruffin was an American soul singer who was born on May 7, 1936, in Collinsville, Mississippi. He was best known for his hits in the 1960s, including "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" and "Hold On (To My Love)." Ruffin was the older brother of the Temptations' lead singer, David Ruffin, and he began his music career as part of the Motown Records roster.


Ruffin's signature song, "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted," was released in 1966 and became a major hit, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He continued to release music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, with some success in the UK charts. Ruffin's powerful and emotive voice, along with his soulful delivery, made him a respected figure in the world of soul music. He passed away on November 17, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music.
