Jimmy Wayne is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born on October 23, 1972, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Wayne signed to DreamWorks Records Nashville in 2003 and released his self-titled debut album in 2003, which included the hit single "Stay Gone." He followed up with his second album, "Do You Believe Me Now," in 2008, which included the title track that reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
In addition to his music career, Jimmy Wayne is also known for his advocacy work on behalf of foster children. He has written a memoir titled "Walk to Beautiful: The Power of Love and a Homeless Kid Who Found the Way," documenting his experience growing up in and out of the foster care system. Wayne has also walked over 1,700 miles from Nashville to Phoenix to raise awareness of foster youth aging out of the system.
