Artist Bio:
Jivin' Gene And The Jokers was a Louisiana-based rock and roll band formed in the late 1950s. The band was fronted by the lead vocalist and songwriter Jivin' Gene Bourgeois. Their music was a blend of rockabilly, rhythm and blues, and swamp pop, which was popular in the Southern United States during that time.

Jivin' Gene And The Jokers gained regional popularity with their hit song "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" in 1959, which reached number one on the Louisiana music charts. The band continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s, but never achieved significant national success. Despite this, they remain a notable part of Louisiana's rock and roll history, known for their energetic live performances and unique sound that combined elements of various music genres popular at the time.
