Artist Bio:
J.J. Fad is an American hip hop group that was formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, California. The group originally consisted of members Juana Burns, Dania Birks, and Michelle Franklin, with the group's name being an acronym of the first letter of each member's name. J.J. Fad is best known for their hit single "Supersonic," which was released in 1988 and produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella of N.W.A. The song was a commercial success, reaching the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming one of the early successful songs in the genre of West Coast hip hop.
Following the success of "Supersonic," J.J. Fad released their debut album of the same name in 1988, which also included the singles "Way Out" and "Is It Love." The group's unique style and catchy hooks helped them gain popularity in the late 1980s hip hop scene. J.J. Fad continued to release music throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, although they never quite replicated the success of "Supersonic."
