Artist Bio:
Joboxers was a British new wave band formed in 1982. The band's lineup consisted of lead vocalist Dig Wayne, guitarist Rob Marche, keyboardist Chris Bostock, bassist Johnny Dee, and drummer Sean McLusky. Joboxers achieved commercial success with their debut single "Boxerbeat," which reached the top 10 in the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in 1983. The song was featured on their debut album, "Like Gangbusters," which was released the same year.
Despite their initial success, Joboxers disbanded in 1985 after releasing a second album, "The Big Beat." The band's music was characterized by its energetic blend of new wave, pop, and rock influences, with catchy hooks and Wayne's charismatic vocals standing out as defining elements of their sound. Joboxers' impact on the music scene of the 1980s was relatively brief, but their hit single "Boxerbeat" remains a memorable track from the era.
