Joe Barry, born Joseph Barrios Jr. on July 13, 1939, was an American singer and songwriter from Cut Off, Louisiana. He is best known for his hit song "I'm A Fool To Care," which reached number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. Barry began his music career in the late 1950s and was influenced by R&B and swamp pop music. He released several singles and albums throughout the 1960s, including "Teardrops in My Heart" and "Little Papoose."


Despite achieving moderate success in the music industry, Joe Barry eventually faded into obscurity in the following decades. However, his music continued to be appreciated by fans of swamp pop and oldies music. Joe Barry passed away on August 31, 2004, leaving behind a musical legacy that continues to be remembered and enjoyed by listeners.
