Joe Diffie was an American country music singer and songwriter born on December 28, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He gained fame in the 1990s with his traditional country sound and humorous lyrics. Diffie released a total of 13 studio albums during his career, with multiple hit singles including "Home," "If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)," and "Third Rock from the Sun."


Diffie was known for his distinctive voice and honky-tonk style, which earned him numerous awards including a Grammy Award for his collaboration on the country music album "Same Old Train." He was also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a prestigious country music stage in Nashville, Tennessee. Diffie passed away on March 29, 2020, due to complications from COVID-19, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the country music industry.
