Artist Bio:
Joe Simon is an American soul and R&B singer, best known for his hits in the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Simmesport, Louisiana in 1943, Simon began his music career as a member of the Golden West Singers before pursuing a solo career. He signed with the label Sound Stage 7 and released his debut album, "My Adorable One," in 1966. Simon's music often featured emotional and heartfelt lyrics, earning him the nickname "The Mouth of the South."


In the late 1960s, Joe Simon collaborated with the vocal group The Mainstreeters, who provided backing vocals for some of his recordings. The Mainstreeters added a soulful and harmonious element to Simon's music, enhancing his powerful vocals. Together, Joe Simon and The Mainstreeters created several successful tracks, including the hit songs "Misty Blue" and "Get Down, Get Down (Get on the Floor)." Their collaborations helped solidify Joe Simon's reputation as a prominent figure in the soul music scene of the era.
