Artist Bio:
Joe Simon was an American comic book writer and artist, born in 1913 and passing away in 2011. He is best known for co-creating the iconic superhero character Captain America with artist Jack Kirby in 1941. Simon and Kirby worked together on numerous other comic book creations during the Golden Age of Comic Books, including the Sandman and the Newsboy Legion.
After his partnership with Kirby ended, Joe Simon continued to work in the comic book industry, creating characters like the Fly and the Shield for Archie Comics. Later in his career, he worked for Marvel Comics and DC Comics on various projects. Joe Simon was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1999 for his significant contributions to the comic book industry.
