Artist Bio:
Joe Simon was an American comic book writer, artist, editor, and publisher. He is best known for co-creating the superhero character Captain America with artist Jack Kirby in 1940. Simon and Kirby also collaborated on other popular characters such as the Sandman and the Newsboy Legion. Simon had a long and successful career in the comic book industry, working for various publishers including DC Comics and Harvey Comics.
In addition to his work in comics, Joe Simon also had a brief career in advertising and commercial art. He later returned to the comic book industry, working on titles such as "Sick" magazine and "Prez" for DC Comics. Joe Simon was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1999 in recognition of his significant contributions to the medium.
