Artist Bio:
Joe Simon was an American comic book writer, artist, editor, and publisher. He is best known for co-creating the iconic character Captain America with artist Jack Kirby in 1940, which was published by Timely Comics, the predecessor of Marvel Comics. Simon also worked on other popular comic book characters such as the Sandman and the Boy Commandos during the Golden Age of Comic Books.


In the 1950s, Simon and Kirby created their own successful comic book company, Mainline Publications, where they worked on titles such as "The Fly" and "The Double Life of Private Strong." Simon continued to work in the comic book industry for many years, collaborating with various artists and publishers on a wide range of projects. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1999 for his significant contributions to the medium.
