Artist Bio:
Joe Simon was an American comic book writer and artist, best known for co-creating the iconic character Captain America with artist Jack Kirby in 1940. Simon was born on October 11, 1913, in Rochester, New York, and began his career in the comic book industry in the 1930s. In addition to Captain America, Simon also worked on other popular titles such as "The Sandman" and "The Boy Commandos" during the Golden Age of comic books.
Simon later went on to work in advertising and as a magazine art director before returning to the comic book industry in the 1960s. He continued to create and work on various comic book projects throughout his career, receiving multiple awards for his contributions to the medium. Joe Simon passed away on December 14, 2011, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the pioneering figures in the world of comic books.
