Artist Bio:
Joe Simon was an American comic book writer, artist, editor, and publisher. He was born in 1913 and passed away in 2011. Simon is best known for co-creating the iconic superhero character Captain America with artist Jack Kirby in 1940. Together, Simon and Kirby went on to create many other memorable characters and stories for various comic book publishers during the Golden Age of Comics.


In addition to his work in the comic book industry, Joe Simon also had a successful career as a magazine and advertising illustrator. He later became an editor at Harvey Comics and created the character "The Fly." Simon was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1999 in recognition of his significant contributions to the medium.
