Artist Bio:
Joe Simon was an American comic book writer, artist, editor, and publisher. He was born in 1913 in Rochester, New York, and passed away in 2011. Simon is best known for co-creating the iconic superhero character Captain America with artist Jack Kirby. The character first appeared in Timely Comics' "Captain America Comics" #1 in 1941, during the World War II era.


Apart from Captain America, Joe Simon worked on various other comic book characters and series throughout his career, including creating the character of the Fighting American, along with Jack Kirby. Simon also served as the first editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics' predecessor, Timely Comics, and later went on to work for DC Comics. His contributions to the comic book industry have left a lasting impact on the medium, and he is remembered as a pioneer in the field of superhero comics.
