Loudermilk wrote numerous popular songs, including "Tobacco Road," "Indian Reservation," and "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye." Loudermilk was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1976 and the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2011.
