Artist Bio:
John Denver, born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. on December 31, 1943, was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and environmental activist. He is best known for his folk and country music, with hits such as "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Annie's Song," and "Rocky Mountain High." Denver released over 300 songs during his career and sold over 33 million records worldwide. He was named the Poet Laureate of Colorado in 1974 and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1996.


In addition to his music career, John Denver was a passionate advocate for environmental and humanitarian causes. He co-founded the Windstar Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental conservation. Denver tragically died in a plane crash on October 12, 1997, at the age of 53. Despite his untimely death, his music continues to be beloved by fans around the world and his legacy as a musician and environmentalist lives on.
