Artist Bio:
John Fred and the Playboys were an American band formed in 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The band's lead vocalist was John Fred Gourrier, who was also the primary songwriter. They are best known for their hit single "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)" released in 1967, which topped the charts in the United States and United Kingdom.


The band's music style was a mix of rock and roll, pop, and R&B. They had several other minor hits in the 1960s, including "Agnes English" and "Hey, Hey Bunny." John Fred and the Playboys disbanded in the early 1970s, but their music continued to be popular among fans of 1960s rock.
