Artist Bio:
John Fred and the Playboys were an American band formed in 1956 by lead vocalist and songwriter John Fred Gourrier in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The band's lineup consisted of John Fred (vocals), Ronnie Goodson (drums), Tommy Bryan (guitar), Jimmy O'Rourke (keyboards), and Harold Cowart (bass). They are best known for their 1968 hit single "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)", which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was a worldwide success.

Despite achieving significant commercial success with "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)", John Fred and the Playboys were unable to replicate the same level of success with subsequent releases. The band continued to perform and record throughout the 1960s and 1970s before disbanding in the late 1970s. John Fred Gourrier passed away in 2005, but the band's music continues to be remembered and celebrated by fans of 1960s pop and rock music.
