Artist Bio:
Johnny and the Hurricanes were an American instrumental rock band formed in Toledo, Ohio in 1958. The band's original members included saxophonist Johnny Paris, guitarist Dave Yorko, piano player Paul Tesluk, bassist Lionel "Butch" Mattice, and drummer Tony Kaye. They were known for their energetic, saxophone-driven rock and roll sound and became popular in the early 1960s.

Their most famous song, "Red River Rock," released in 1959, reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They followed up with other successful singles such as "Beatnik Fly" and "Reveille Rock." The band continued to perform and record throughout the 1960s, but their popularity waned as the British Invasion took over the music scene. Johnny and the Hurricanes disbanded in the early 1970s, and Johnny Paris continued to perform with new band members until his death in 2006.
