Artist Bio:
Johnny and the Hurricanes were an American instrumental rock band formed in Toledo, Ohio in 1958. The band's original members included saxophonist Johnny Paris, guitarist Dave Yorko, keyboardist Paul Tesluk, bassist Lionel "Butch" Mattice, and drummer Tony Kaye. They were known for their energetic live performances and a distinctive sound that combined rock and roll with elements of R&B and rockabilly.

The band achieved success in the early 1960s with hit singles such as "Red River Rock" and "Beatnik Fly," which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their music was characterized by Paris's powerful saxophone playing and the group's tight arrangements. Johnny and the Hurricanes continued to perform and record music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with various lineup changes, before disbanding in the early 1980s. Their music remains popular among fans of instrumental rock and rock and roll.
