Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Two were a country music group formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. The group consisted of Johnny Cash as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Luther Perkins on electric guitar, and Marshall Grant on bass guitar. They played a significant role in the development of the rockabilly and country music genres, with their raw and minimalist sound.


The trio gained popularity in the mid-1950s with hits like "I Walk the Line" and "Folsom Prison Blues". Their signature sound was characterized by Cash's deep, distinctive voice, Perkins' steady guitar picking, and Grant's simple yet powerful bass lines. Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Two were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Their influence on country music and rockabilly can still be heard today, making them one of the most iconic and influential groups in music history.
