Johnny Cash, born on February 26, 1932, in Kingsland, Arkansas, was an American singer, songwriter, and actor who is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Known as the "Man in Black," Cash is best known for his deep, distinctive voice and for blending country, rock and roll, blues, and gospel music in his songs. He gained popularity in the 1950s and 1960s with hits like "I Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire," and "Folsom Prison Blues."


Cash's career spanned over five decades, during which he released numerous albums and singles, won multiple Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame. He was also known for his live performances, including legendary concerts at Folsom Prison and San Quentin Prison. Cash passed away on September 12, 2003, but his music continues to be celebrated and influence artists across different genres to this day.
