Johnny Cymbal, born John Hendry Blair on February 3, 1945, was a Scottish-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his 1963 hit single "Mr. Bass Man," which reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Cymbal also had other minor hits in the 1960s, including "Cinnamon" and "Little Miss Lonely."


In addition to his own music career, Johnny Cymbal wrote songs for other artists, including hits like "Mary in the Morning" recorded by Al Martino and "Rock Me Baby" recorded by David Cassidy. Cymbal continued to write and perform music throughout his career, collaborating with various artists and bands. He passed away on March 16, 1993, but his music continues to be remembered and enjoyed by fans of 1960s pop music.
